WHO IS WILL WELSH?

I am a 3rd year Graphic Design Student at Penn State. I was born and raised in Norristown, PA, 30 minutes outside of Philadelphia. Growing up I enjoyed playing sports and spending time outside as most young boys do, but I was always drawn to the artistic side of things too, a trait I found to be less common in my peers. I am not sure exactly where my love for art came from, but I've always felt it was in some way connected to my love for nature too. As far as I can remember, the natural world has fascinated me. It brings a sense of happiness and relaxation to me unlike anything else, and I believe this appreciation of mine is part of the reason I love art. I find nature's same beauty and freedom in the fact that anyone can express themselves through art. These are two cornerstones of my personality. I wouldn't be who I am today without my appreciation for them.

My Experience

I discovered Graphic Design in high school when I took a class in it Freshman year. I immediately knew that it was something I was interested in. My favorite part about it is the empty canvas each project begins as. I have over 4 years of experience in Adobe softwares Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. More recently, in the past couple of years, I have begun learning Premiere Pro and After Effects. Branding, publication design, and animation are some sub-fields I really enjoy learning about. Even with my experience, I have much to learn and am very excited to do just that.
